The times are a changin' in Douglas County. The demographics are slowly shifting in our favor and we were one of the few counties to shift blue in the 2024 election cycle. It is time we have more representation in our county government and at the state capitol. Have you ever considered serving your community by running for an elected office? In order to build your knowledge as a candidate and build name recognition, the time to get started is now!

These are some things you can be doing now to ensure a successful candidacy:

• Get Involved!

  • Volunteer to help with the upcoming school board and city council elections.

  • Help GOTV efforts.

  • Attend your regular house district community meetings and activism events.

• Learn more about our county operations:

  • Apply to Leadership Douglas County

  • Join Citizens Academies (various depending on where you reside)

  • Join a Chamber of Commerce
