While school board elections are non-partisan, as Democrats, we believe that public education is the cornerstone of a strong and healthy democracy. That’s why we proudly support candidates who are committed to strengthening our public schools.
What does it mean to be pro-public education?
It means advocating for:
Safe, inclusive, and thriving public schools where every student can succeed.
Fully funding public schools with public tax dollars—not diverting those funds to private school voucher programs.
Respecting and supporting educators, including fair pay and the resources they need to succeed.
This year, four candidates embody these values. Each of them brings real-world experience as both in the field of education and parents, giving them a deep understanding of what our schools and students truly need. Combined, these candidates have over 30 years of experience in education. They are also endorsed by the local teacher's union, Douglas County Federation.
On November 4th, Douglas County voters have the opportunity to vote for all four of these pro-public education candidates to our school board.
