May has arrived, bringing many opportunities to take action and make your voice heard in Douglas County, Colorado, and across the United States. Whether you want to support democracy, advocate for rights, or connect with your community, there are events and activities you can join. Please note that not all of these events are organized or sponsored by the Douglas County Activism Task Force or Douglas County Democrats.
·May 17th, Noon to 3:00, Colorado Rapid Response Network Confirmer Training (Castle Rock) – Sign up to become a CORRN Confirmer. Confirmers verify reports of ICE activity by making calls and gathering information. Sign up to attend Know Your Rights training and become a volunteer for CORRN: CORRN Volunteer Training.
May 17th, 11 to 6:00, Douglas County Pride Fest (Parker) – Come join the fun at Douglas County Pride Fest! There will be live entertainment, food and vendors and a drag show. May 18th, 6 to 7:30, US Senate Candidate Forum (Douglas County) – Democracy Now DougCo, a local Indivisible group, is hosting a candidate forum for their monthly May meeting. Come hear Julie Gonzalez (confirmed) and John Hickenlooper (invited) speak and take questions from a moderator. Sign up here: DougCo Democracy Now May Meeting.
May 24th, 1 to 3:00, Speak Now Rally Now Remove the Regime (Parker) – Indivisible is staging a Speak Now Rally Now event in Parker. Come and hear various speakers talk about Executive Branch overreach, voting suppression and more. Sign up here for this event: Speak Now Rally Now Parker.
May 30th, 1 to 3:00, Bridging the Gap, No Kings to Democracy (Castle Pines) – Join the DougCo Activism Task Force as we present an interactive workshop where we discuss how to use the momentum from the No Kings protests to get results. You’ll also learn how you can become involved in 3 Douglas County campaigns: Eileen Laubacher for Congress, Irene Bonham for County Commissioner and the 3 to 5 County Commissioners Petition Drive. Blue Crew Social Douglas County (formerly Living Liberally Douglas County). This is more than a social group. This is a way to connect with like-minded people in your community and get plugged in to opportunities for engagement and action. Find them on Facebook here: Blue Crew Social Facebook Page.

Douglas County Interfaith Coalition – This is a growing interfaith organization, hosting regular meetings and events. DougCo Interfaith Coalition.
General Strike Colorado – General Strike is a decentralized network of regular people who recognize that everyone’s labor is an asset to the country and this asset can be withheld when necessary to call attention to the fight for racial, economic and environmental justice. Together Colorado (Littleton) – This faith based organization is focused on 3 areas: Immigration Justice, Food insecurity and education. Reach out to this organization here: Together Colorado.
